ASP "Autobahn" - an enterprise e-mail delivery system
What is ASP "Autobahn"?
Launched in June 1997, "Autobahn" is Japan's first database-driven e-mail delivery system ASP. "Autobahn" is currently (as of December 2006) adopted by over 800 companies, including leading corporations and governmental offices-clients that demand the highest levels of stability and security.
Four reasons for choosing Autobahn
1.Japan's oldest and largest customer base
Tricorn launched its first mail delivery service in 1997. The credibility that comes with being the first mail delivery service provider in Japan has led to the adoption of the system by a large number of corporations. The high adoption rate among corporations stands as a testimony to the system's ability to weather the rigors of long-term commercial use. A system able to withstand the rigors of long-term commercial use means a system that can respond to a wide variety of customer system requirements, that can accommodate large-volume transmissions, and that is safeguarded against bugs. Furthermore, as a result of the large number of companies adopting this system, we have built up a great deal of know-how, which is then incorporated back into the system, creating a virtuous cycle. When you consider that a large proportion of the corporations that currently perform mail delivery services actually started out as Tricorn agents, one could say that Tricorn is and will continue to be a pioneer in the mail delivery market.
2. A highly sophisticated system continuously improved through regular version upgrades
The system is upgraded on a regular basis. Autobahn incorporates a large number of functions originally developed by Tricorn. The system utilizes the best practices available for a mail delivery system, meaning that rather than simply using the system to deliver mail, customers are able to utilize Tricorn's unique mail-delivery know-how itself. The speed of technical innovation in connection with the Internet is extremely fast. Tricorn continually offers new functions to customers ahead of its industry rivals, and aims to keep its customers at the forefront of mail delivery technology.
3. Free support
The Autobahn mail delivery service comes with a dedicated support center, which provides free customer support through telephone or e-mail. Since our startup in 1997, the support service provides a much-needed human touch, and enjoys a sound reputation among our customers. Please feel free to make regular use of our support service-you will not be baffled by streams of technical jargon.
4. Sound knowledge base built on a wealth of experience
We have built up a sound knowledge base from our wide experience in helping companies to establish mail delivery services. For this reason, we are one of the few companies that go beyond the mere provision of delivery systems to act as a consultant that offers extensive support right from the establishment of a client's e-mail-related business. To set our clients' business on the path towards success through optimal application of our accumulated know-how-this is our ultimate aim.
Autobahn security
  • The Autobahn operation screen and the screens for member registration, renewal, deletion and password reissue each use SSL certified by VeriSign Japan's Secure Server ID. Personal data inputs are encoded for safe handling.
  • The data center that operates Autobahn's servers and lines are powered by SoftBank IDC. Security is assured-the highly skilled and experienced engineers of SoftBank IDC operate and manage everything from network monitoring to general system management 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
  • Redundancy is provided for almost the entire system, including hardware, network, firewalls and load balancers, enabling the system to instantaneously switch to an alternate configuration in the unlikely event of a breakdown, thereby ensuring services to be provided without disruption.
  • A tight security system is maintained at the SoftBank IDC Data Center 24 hours a day. The security system features multiple systems for receiving transmitted electricity, an uninterruptible power supply system, private electric generators, batteries, an earthquake and fire-proof structure, a redundant air conditioning system, a fire extinguishing system that uses special gas, a card-key entry system, security cameras, as well as an around-the-clock monitoring system of the entire facility.
  • When access demand is high, a load balancer distributes the load over multiple servers to maintain a consistent level of service.
  • Using disc mirroring, customer data is backed up in real time, while data for multiple generations is backed up and stored in large-volume tape media. This configuration enables effective data recovery in the event that data is lost due to hard disk failures.
  • Transmissions to and from the Internet are protected with redundant firewalls to assure safe access.
  • Tricorn constantly gathers information on security holes that are discovered on a daily basis, and promptly implements countermeasures to ensure uninterrupted system operation.
Tricorn's policy on protection of personal information
Tricorn is a Privacy Mark company. This means that its establishment of a compliance program for proper protection of personal information, corporate structure, personnel education program, performance of audits, its establishment of a customer center, and its maintenance of system-wide security have been certified by a third party.
  • Privacy Mark
The Privacy Mark system is a system for certifying private enterprises that adopt sufficient measures to properly protect private information. Such enterprises are awarded a Privacy Mark, and are granted permission to display the mark during their corporate activities.
